Daytona Marks Second Event

UNOH Battle At The Beach To Be Broadcast Live On TV And Radio

ROSEVILLE, Calif. (Feb. 17, 2014) – A trio of drivers from Bill McAnally Racing are headed to their second race in three days as the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East completes a doubleheader with the UNOH Battle At The Beach at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla., on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

The event, staged on a .37-mile oval on the backstretch at the “World Center of Racing,” follows two days after the series opened its season at nearby New Smyrna Speedway on Sunday.

BMR drivers Nick Drake, Brandon McReynolds and Patrick Staropoli are among the field of competitors who will be challenging for the $20,000 winner’s purse in the prestigious event, which is part of Budweiser Speedweeks 2014 at Daytona.

The UNOH Battle At The Beach will be broadcast live on television and radio. FOX Sports 2 will carry the event live beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Motor Racing Network (MRN) will stream coverage of the race live at MRN.com, with simulcast by SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Ch. 90, beginning with a pre-race program at 6:45 p.m. In addition to the live television broadcast, the race re-airs on FOX Sports 1 on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 5:30 p.m.

Drake, who drives the No. 15 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry, is coming off a 15th-place finish in his series debut at New Smyrna. The 18-year-old former open-wheel competitor from Mooresville, N.C., is challenging for this year’s Sunoco Rookie of the Year Award in the K&N East.

McReynolds – who after running the first two K&N East races, will contend for the title in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West this season in the No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry – had a 14th-place finish at New Smyrna. McReynolds, 22, is also from Mooresville.

Staropoli, meanwhile, is driving the No. 99 PEAK Toyota Camry in select events for BMR this season. The 24-year-old driver from Plantation, Fla., opened his effort with an 11th-place finish at New Smyrna.

BMR expanded into the K&N East this year, with Drake racing the full slate of 16 events and being teamed with Cole Custer of Ladera Ranch, Calif., at select events.
